Excellent everyday driver for casual truck use

Thursday, March 04, 2021

I love this truck. Smooth ride, good performance, excellent versatility. Went from a F-150 and what a difference; easier to park, much more comfortable drive and more reliable. The tailgate and the bed trunk are very useful. Only downside is that the rear seat room very limited; not great for back seat passengers 6' or over. I prefer the looks of the Tacoma but this truck beats the Tacoma in every other category. If you don't work construction or need to tow more than 5000 lbs., this truck is worth a look.

It does everything well for a light-duty truck...

It is not much to look it. I have had it for 9 months now and I still don't like the looks of it. But when you drive this Ridgeline, you can't help but love it. I had a 2009 Ridgeline RT for nearly 12 years before this one. I didn't want another Ridgeline because of the looks, but I wanted a new truck before I retired. So I looked at/test drove Rangers and Tacomas and there were just too many things I would've had to given up on. The quality or style of every other truck was just not good enough to suit me. The Ridgeline's interior is hands-down the best part. Like most Americans, I drive my truck like a car 80% of the time. There are the weekends were I have to take my utility tractor to my property to mow, or take the boat to the lake, or just go get plants and trees for a new landscaping project. The Ridgeline does it all very well, keeps me in comfort and gets an average of 21-23 MPG around everyday county road driving. The Ridgeline Pulls a trailer like a dream. Most of the time you can forget it is even back there. Doesn't have the bouncy-jerking ride while pulling that nearly every other truck on the market does. My 2009 was a base RT. My 2019 is an RTL-E. So I went from a base truck to a loaded truck. Miss the looks of the old one, the CD Player in the old one, but with the mileage this new one gets, the smooth/comfortable ride and the smoking good deal I got on it, I feel like I made a great purchase! Don't judge a book by the cover. Test drive it, compare the features, buy it!

Could not have expected any more.

I bought this truck based on actual needs and reliability. From the first day I was impressed with the workmanship of this truck. The fit and finish was top notch. The ride was great. I averaged 26 mpg on my first road trip. And can have a heavy foot at times. I have had all the brand name trucks in my past. But I do not intend on going off road nor hauling over the 5000 pound limit. This truck fits my needs.
