Lucid Motors is an American electric vehicle manufacturer. Founded in 2007 under the name Atieva, Lucid's headquarters is in California, and it operates a new, state-of-the-art factory in Arizona. The Lucid Air is the automaker's first vehicle, a large luxury sedan. After several delays, Lucid delivered the first 2022 Air sedans to customers toward the end of 2021. Initially, only the more expensive and powerful versions were available, offering up to 1,111 horsepower or an EPA-estimated 520 miles of driving range on a full battery charge. By 2023, Lucid offered a range of Air models, the most affordable of them priced below $90,000. Buyers could choose single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, and Lucid claimed the new Sapphire trim boasted more than 1,200 horsepower and acceleration to 60 mph in less than 2 seconds.
