The Elantra GT hatchback joined the Hyundai family in 2013. Replacing the Elantra Touring wagon, it was positioned as a fun-to-drive, functional, five-door compact hatchback. The Elantra GT featured a sport-tuned suspension, a peppy four-cylinder engine, and a choice between a manual and an automatic transmission. The fun five-seater also offered more interior volume than some rivals, supplying up to 51 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seat folded down. A 2018 redesign gave the Elantra GT a more upscale appearance, a tech upgrade, and an available turbocharged engine.
