The Jeep Gladiator evolves with more refinement, tech, and safety. That doesn't mean the new Gladiator is a less capable adventurer. On the contrary, the added features complement the midsize truck's off-road confidence and on-road comfort. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is built in Toledo, Ohio, along with its platform twin, the Jeep Wrangler.

What's New for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator?

The 2024 Jeep Gladiator receives new design flourishes, added safety, and an infotainment upgrade that includes a factory-installed app with available access to more than 3,000 off-road trails.

The Gladiator's exterior showcases an updated grille, seven all-new wheel designs, and a windshield-integrated antenna that replaces the previous whip-style antenna.

Side-curtain airbags are now standard for all rows, as are rear seatbelt pretensioners. Forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control are available on higher trim levels.

For those extended stays at off-the-grid, open-top locales, the list of Jeep off-road accessories also grows with exclusive factory-approved add-on packages.

2024 Jeep Gladiator Specs

The 2024 Gladiator can tow a maximum of 7,700 pounds and handle a maximum payload of up to 1,725 pounds. Helping to maintain traction and grip for such heavy loads, the Gladiator is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine making 285 horsepower, a manual or automatic transmission, standard four-wheel drive, and 32-inch all-season tires. Depending on trim and packages, 32- to 37-inch all-terrain or mud-terrain treads are available courtesy of Bridgestone, Falken, and BFGoodrich. The Gladiator lineup features 17-inch wheels.

Though Jeep makes minor exterior design updates, the Gladiator's measurements and size remain unchanged. The wheelbase is 137.3 inches long, and its overall length is 218 inches. The Jeep truck is 73.8 inches wide, but its height varies by trim and top type. Softtops are taller, up to 76.1 inches, while hardtops reach no more than 74.1 inches.

Depending on the trim level and equipment, the Gladiator has an approach angle of 44.7 degrees, a breakover angle of 20.9 degrees, and a departure angle of 26 degrees. The Gladiator's ground clearance is 10 inches to start and up to 11.6 when properly equipped.

The truck can also ford water up to 31.5 inches deep.

All Jeep Gladiator models feature a steel bed that measures 60.3 inches long with the tailgate closed and 81.3 inches with it open. The width and height of the cargo area (up to the sills) are 56.8 and 33.9 inches, respectively. The total volume of the Gladiator's cargo box is 35.5 cubic-feet.

2024 Jeep Gladiator Engine

The standard 2024 Gladiator engine is a 3.6-liter V6 producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Tuned for hauling, towing, and off-roading, the engine delivers decent low-end torque. The V6 mates to either a standard six-speed manual transmission or an available eight-speed automatic transmission. Jeep has canceled the previously available 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 and is reportedly planning an upcoming Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid model.

Is There a 2024 Jeep Gladiator Electric Model?

Although the Wrangler 4xe has been available since 2021, there is no official news regarding a Gladiator 4xe — at least not for the 2024 model. However, Jeep says all its vehicles will have an electrified variant by 2025. So, a Gladiator plug-in or all-electric model will likely be here before too long.

2024 Jeep Gladiator Trim Levels

The 2024 Gladiator adds two new trim levels to its model lineup. Joining the Gladiator Sport, Sport S, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon are the Mojave X and Rubicon X. Standard equipment on the X models includes a full-time four-wheel-drive system, integrated off-road camera, a rear steel bumper, Nappa leather-trimmed seats, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats.

The 2024 Gladiator is available in nine exterior colors, which can either act as a camouflage or make you the life of the party. Gladiator paint choices include Anvil (all new), Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge, and Silver Zynith.

The centerpiece of the 2024 Gladiator's cabin is an all-new instrument panel with a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Along with improved voice recognition, the Uconnect 5 system adds new features such as a customizable home screen, dual-smartphone pairing, the creation of up to five user profiles, a valet mode, and the integrated Jeep Adventure Guides with Trails Offroad-generated maps.

The high-tech interior is also highly functional. With the Jeep's iconic open-air flexibility, interior components are water resistant, there are under-seat storage lockers, and just for kicks, a removable boombox stereo.

2024 Jeep Gladiator Off-Road Accessories

In addition, the new Gladiator offers new upfit packages developed by American Expedition Vehicles. These factory-backed kits are available for any new Gladiator order and include Upcountry, Upcountry+, and the Rubicon-only Level II. Level II-equipped Gladiators will sport 37-inch tires and offer up to 16 inches of ground clearance and 36 inches of water fording.

Separately, a retractable rooftop camper produced by Addax Overland will give Gladiator owners another outdoor option. The seamlessly integrated camper easily winches on and off the vehicle.

2024 Jeep Gladiator Price and Release Date

Jeep announced that order books for the new Gladiator would open Sept. 13, 2023, with the vehicles arriving in dealerships by the end of the year. However, the automaker gave no information regarding Gladiator pricing, fuel economy, and other specifications. Expect more details closer to the Gladiator's on-sale date.
