The Chevrolet Equinox EV's 2024 Redesign
The Chevrolet Equinox crossover has been around for several years, but the Equinox EV is all new for 2024. The electric Equinox, however, shares little more than a name with the gas-powered model, which receives only minor changes for the 2024 model year.

2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Dimensions
Chevrolet is tight-lipped regarding the dimensions of its 2024 Equinox EV, aside from saying it seats up to five passengers and has a maximum cargo volume of 57 cubic-feet. That's close to the figure Honda quotes for its all-new Prologue, an EV born from a partnership between Honda and Chevy's parent company, General Motors.

In typical Chevrolet fashion, the 2024 Equinox EV is available in multiple LT trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The base Equinox EV 1LT features 19-inch alloy wheels and 11.0-inch screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment system. Opt for the 2LT and you'll get heated front seats with power adjustments for the driver and access to an optional hands-free power liftgate, Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology, and more. Charging Time for the Chevrolet Equinox EV
All 2024 Equinox EVs come standard with 11.5-kW Level 2 charging capability that Chevrolet claims will add about 34 miles of range per hour of charge. A 19.2-kW Level 2 charging system, available on the Equinox EV 3RS eAWD, is expected to increase range by 51 miles in the same time frame. If you're in a hurry, standard DC fast charging can recharge at rates up to 150 kW. Chevrolet says this approach adds 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Based on these figures, recharging a depleted battery to its 300-mile range capacity will take about nine hours using 11.5-kW Level 2 charging or 45 minutes when plugged into a DC fast charger.

2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV's Bidirectional Charging Capability
Bidirectional charging may sound like a foreign concept, but if you've seen a Ford F-150 Lightning commercial over the past couple of years, you might already be familiar with this technology featured in the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV. In simple terms, bidirectional charging allows you to use your vehicle as a generator to power your home during an electrical outage.

Does the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Qualify for a Tax Credit?
There's a growing number of EVs on the market for you to consider, some of which qualify for a maximum federal tax credit of $7,500. As a buyer, you need to meet specific criteria, including an annual income limitation, to qualify, while the vehicle must be assembled in North America and use a battery that meets strict guidelines regarding the sourcing and recycling of its critical minerals. The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, built in General Motors' Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, plant, may qualify for the full $7,500, depending on whether or not the battery guidelines are met.
